JADE BORMAN
Some Background
My Life up until Now
I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. I went to Kingsmead College for high school and here I graduated in 2018 with 7 distinctions. Afterwards I embarked on an amazing gap year! I spent six weeks in Verbier, Switzerland, three months in Cape Town and two months in Seoul, South Korea. In Cape town I got multiple qualifications to be a deckhand as well as worked as a runner and research intern at a production company: Eye Force. Afterwards, in Korea, I lived with a host family for two months and studied Korean at Hanyang university. When I eventually came back to Johannesburg, I became a graphic design intern at Efficiency Advertising. I worked here for six months until I started studying at The Animation School. After graduating from TAS in March 2023; achieving a distinction for our final year short film Morsel; I began thinking about my next steps.
I decided I wanted to move to London! I moved here in May 2023 and started creating a life for myself. I began working in a guitar shop, Camden Guitars, in August and started running music workshops for WeJam in September. I was a sales person and basic guitar tech at the shop. For WeJam I ran a fun music based game in a studio and also, went into schools to run music workshops for year 4-6. Whilst having these jobs I was constantly thinking what I can do next to further my career. That is when I found my current course at Brunel University.
I am currently studying a BSc in VFX and Motion Graphics at Brunel University in Uxbridge. I am so excited to go into campus everyday and expand on my current skillset and improve the skills I already have. I look forward to where this chapter will take me in life!

WeJam/BeTheBand
September 2023-September 2024
I ran the music experience studio sessions in Camden as well went to schools all across London to run music workshops for year 4-6s. In the studio sessions, I had to set up all the instruments and tablets, connect the software and make sure the instruments were connected to the tablets in order to play along to all the songs. I was also expected to be an energetic people person which I delivered. As well as making sure the tech ran smoothly I had to also hype everyone up. For the schools, I had to transport multiple keyboards and other equipment to multiple different schools three times a week, also set up the software when I got there and try and get the children to be enthusiastic about music.
